The Groton, Massachusetts community is in mourning as they come to terms with the loss of a beloved 4th-grade teacher, Amanda Jane Daigle. Amanda’s passing on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the age of 43, after a brave fight against pancreatic cancer, has left her family, students, friends, and the entire community heartbroken.
Amanda Jane Daigle, born in Lowell, Massachusetts, was the beloved daughter of John and Deborah (Krawczyk) Guthrie. She was a devoted sister to her two brothers, Ryan and Christopher Guthrie. Amanda’s educational journey led her to Bishop Guertin, where she earned her high school diploma in 1998. She furthered her studies at Quinnipiac University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Her pursuit of knowledge continued at Merrimack College, where she earned her Master’s degree.
Amanda’s most recent role was as a fourth-grade teacher in the Acton-Boxborough school system. Her dedication to her students was unwavering, and her gentle, calm demeanor left a lasting impression on the lives of many young learners. Amanda’s commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, where she was a source of inspiration and guidance.

In 2007, Amanda married John Daigle, the love of her life. Their journey together was marked by love and dedication, as they celebrated their sixteenth wedding anniversary on August 11, 2023. Amanda’s greatest joy in life was her three children: Molly, Chloe, and Matthew. She was the epitome of a devoted mother, attending every event, supporting her children’s endeavors, and cheering them on at every step. Her beauty, both inside and out, lives on in each of her beloved children.
Amanda possessed a smile that could brighten any room, and her infectious laughter was a source of joy for all who knew her. Her laughter was shared by the entire world, a testament to the light she brought into people’s lives. Amanda had a deep love for the great outdoors, whether it was skiing in New Hampshire with her family, spending sunny summer days at their York Beach vacation home swimming in the ocean, or embarking on hikes and adventures with John and the kids. Yoga and music were also cherished parts of her life, providing comfort during her courageous two-year battle against cancer.
Visiting hours to remember and celebrate Amanda Daigle’s life will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex Street, N. Chelmsford, MA. A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. John The Evangelist Church in Chelmsford, MA. The burial will be a private ceremony held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Daigle Children Education Fund through Ste. Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, 581 Merrimack St. Lowell, MA.
