1. At first download and install Wamp server on your Computer or if you are using Godaddy you can directly chose wordpress hosting option

2. Download WordPress. You can easily get the latest version of WordPress from here. https://wordpress.org/

3. On Wamp Server, and then select and go to phpMyAdmin option.

Now create a new database from here as shown in the image. You can give any name to your database, but make sure it must be related to your website.

4. Now you are done with the database section of Wamp server.

Just remember the exact name of your database.

Here are the steps to install WordPress.

 

5. To install this setup on your PC,

just go onto Wamp then www folder. Now put the already downloaded WordPress files here.

6. Make a new folder and extract all the files here,

from the downloaded rar file of WordPress.

 

7. Now, once again open Wamp server, localhost.

8. Now select you downloaded WordPress file from here as shown in the below image.

9. Whenever you will click on your downloaded file, a list of languages will be open. From here, just choose your required language for your web site. Then click continue button.

10. Click on Let’s go.

11. Fill all the top three required details and then press on submit button.

12. Remember one thing, your database username always will be “root” every time whenever you will install a new WordPress setup. Similarly, database password will remain blank always. See image below

13. Now, simply press “Run the Install” button.

14. Once again fill all the required details in the form. This time you can choose any username or password. But, keep it remember always.

Here, Site title would be name of your website. For example, if you book www.abc.com as a domain name for your website. Then, abc will be yours site title. Once you are done with this form, just press install WordPress.
15. Finally, you are done with the installation process.

16. Just login to your Dashboard, by entering your exact login details.

17. When you will successfully login into your WordPress setup, you will be able to see your dashboard, which will look like this as seen in the below image.

From here, you access all your website back end parts. Which means, from dashboard you can edit, update your site design, layout, theme, and other features.

19. To go on your website, go to your dashboard, then put the cursor on the Home icon places at its top left corner and then click “Visit Site”. Your site will be open.

Finally, it’s time to customize the design and theme of your website as per your imagination and requirements. For this, just follow the given steps and give an alluring look to your website.

1. First and foremost, open your dashboard, and hit on blue colored “Customize your site” button.

 

2. Now a site customization page will be open, along with various options from which you can edit the whole layout and structure of the site. Once you have done all the required editing, do not forget to click on “Save and Publish” button from its top section. You have to save each change every time.

3. Post
If you want to add more content or posts on your website or blog, just go to the “Post” option and then select “Add Post”.

 

Now give a suitable title to your post, and type the required content in the given section. Also, from here you are able to decorate your text content with various options. Such as bold, italic, and apply underline on the text, by adding numbers or bullets in the text to highlight the different points.

Whenever you will finish the writing and editing of the post, you can see the preview of the particular post by just clicking on the “Preview” button. If you get all the things are correct with the post then simply click on the given blue colored “Publish” button. After that, you may see your post live.

Besides this, if you want any more editing in such post, then again go to the post option from the dashboard and select “All Post” option from there. Click on the edit button from that post and do all the required correction and when you have done all the correction click update.

Once you will press Update, all the changes will also go live on your website. You can add and edit so many numbers of post on one single website.

If you want to delete any post, then click on the “Trash” or “Move to Trash” button. After this, the single post will go to the trash section. Whenever you need the same post to be live on your website you may also recover such post from the trash section.

4. Categories

As we previously mentioned that, while creating a website in WordPress platform you can add numerous of posts and contents in your web page. Similarly, if you add various posts and all the posts belongs from different categories. It simply means that you need to create more categories. For this, go to “Posts” option and select categories.

From here you can make so many categories as well as you can make sub categories too by defining a single category to the parent category for any sub category.

By allotting a proper category to each and every post, it will become easier for you and of course your visitors to read and manage all the posts of same categories.

5. Media

To make your post or page more attractive you can add some beautiful image or video into it. To add an image or video go to the Media tab from your website back end. Now, select “Add Media” or “Add New” option. See the image below.

From here just simply drag or select an image or video file from your computer as per the requirement of your post or content.

Also, you can align a particular image to the left, right or center part of your post page.

6. Pages

While making a dynamic website, you are free to add one or more pages to your website. Some basic pages that every website have been as “Home”, “About Us”, “Services”, “Contact Us”, etc. or you may add pages as per the requirement of your website and products.

To add pages, hit on “Pages” option from your dashboard and then select “Add new”.

Now give an exact name to your newly created web page and then add the required content into it. Also, you may decorate the particular page by applying some stylish font and text formatting into the text content on that page. You can make it more attractive by adding a nice and high quality of images or video into it.

With the help of this section, you can also give ordering to all the web pages of your website. Apart from this, you can also create some sub pages by defining a single page as the parent page.

You can manage and maintain all the created pages by just clicking on “All Pages” section under “Pages” option from the back end of the website. Also, if you want to delete a single page from your website, simply click Trash. You may recover the particular deleted page again from the Trash section.

7. Comments

Today’s generation is very well familiar with this word “Comment”. As they like to share their thoughts as a comment on almost every social site. If you add a post on your website, and then the visitor will post their view on that post as a comment in the comment section just below of each post.

That particular comment will be saved on the comment part of your dashboard. That comment will not go live while you did not approve it to show in your post. You have to allow a particular comment to show on the post by giving it an approval.

8. Appearance

This is one of the most interesting part to create and design your website in WordPress. From the dashboard, click on the Appearance tab. Here you will get some more option like Theme, Widgets etc., which all will help you to give a completely new look to your website.

Now, slet’s discuss the every single option of the appearance section.

Theme

Via theme section, you can choose and activate any available theme on your website. There are lots of themes available, all you need to select a proper, good looking, well functioning theme which is based on or related to your product.

For example, if you are creating a website for photography, then search a nice theme for photography and activate it. To search a theme, just click on “Add Theme”. Now type the relevant keyword in search theme box. Choose a theme and finally click on Upload Theme.

Once you have selected a theme of your choice and also which is related to your product, you can see the live preview or demo of that particular theme.

Customize

With the help of the customize tab section under the appearance tab, you are able to make some change in the default setting of that theme. Such as you are able to add a logo, give a tag line to the website based on your product. Besides this, you can add a banner or a slider to the top section of the web page, insert a stylish font style and font color to make the text more beautiful, and so on.

Keep in mind that all the time whenever you have done any customization in your theme each time you have to click on “Save and Publish” button. If you forget to save the changes will no longer go live on your site.

Widgets

A Widget is a part through which you can add some functionality to your web page’s sidebar to maintain a standard structure of the page in a very simple way. You can add widgets in the sidebar as well as on the bottom or footer section of the website.

Menus

From this section, you can add one or more menus and submenus to your web page. You can create a Menu by clicking on “Menus” then “create a new menu” under the appearance tab.

Header
By the use of Header section, you can use a header or banner image of your own choice for your website. If you do not want to show a banner image on the website you can also remove it. Once you have made any change in this section remember to save all the changes every time. But, a header or banner image gives a lovely look to any website.

You can also add a video in your web page header section, instead of an image. Make sure, whatever you will add an image or a video will always be a high quality and clear.

Editor
This section covers all the coding part of the design section of your web page. This code has been written in CSS (Cascading Style Sheet). You can also edit the design via this editor’s part, but you can do this only when you have a deep knowledge and understanding of all codes of HTML and CSS.

9. Plugins
It is simply a group of functions that are specially created to add some special features to the WordPress website. These plugins are generally created with the help of a programming language which is known as PHP.

Just the same as WordPress themes and widgets, there a lot of plugins are available. Some of which are available at free of cost while you have to pay for few ones.

To install a plugin, just go onto plugins page, from the dashboard, and hit “Add New” button. Now search a required plugin by inserting the search related keyword the given search plugin box.

For example, if you want to count the number of views and visitors on your post. Then search a plugin by using a keyword like “view count”. Now, you can see a list of so many related plugins. Just choose any one of them along with high rating and install it.

Some plugins require some setting while some don’t require any setting. After applying all the required setting your website gets a new feature and now you can get the actual number of views on each and every post on your website.

Similarly, you can also install a plugin for social media share option, and SEO plugin to do proper SEO of your website.

Also, you can upload a plugin manually from your computer by downloading a plugin via the WordPress plugin directory. For this, go to plugins tab from the back end of the website, click on “Upload Plugin” button. Select your downloaded rar file/folder of that plugin and press install. Once the installation is completed, click Activate Plugin. See the image below.

10. Users
In this section, you can view a complete list of all the users of the particular site or blog. Apart from this,s you can also add one or more user for one single site.

To add another user, go to Users page and click on “Add New” button. Now a form will be open and ask you for some required details of the second user, just fill all the details then click “Add New User”.

11. Your Profile
Well, it’s the section from where you can update your details in your profile. Like your Name, Bio, Profile photo, your name which would be displayed on the posts on the website, etc. Do not forget to click on “Update Profile” while you have done. All the details that you fill the in the section will be shown to everyone and also on every post.

Finally, you are done with all the changes of the back end or dashboard section of your website. Just refresh and see the whole new look and theme of your website which is completely based on your imaginations and requirements.
